Situation Of Nature

Regency of Kuantan Singingi region lays in 0’15’ – 0’40’ Paralel South 101’25’ – 101’50’ Longitude East.

Regency of Kuantan Singingi has regional boundaries as follows :
a. northside with Regency of Kampar and Regency of Pelalawan
b. eastside with Regency of Indragiri Hulu
c. side south with Province of Jambi; and
d. westside with Province of West Sumatra.

Regency of Kuantan Singingi has entirety region of about 7.656,03 km2, with capital city domicile in Teluk Kuantan, consists of 12 districts, those are Districts of Cerenti, Kuantan Hilir, Kuantan Tengah, Kuantan Mudik, Benai, Singingi, Kuantan Hulu, Gunung Toar, Singingi Hilir, Pangean, Logas Tanah Datar and Inoman.

Climate
Regency of Kuantan Singingi has tropical climate with rainfall 1500 mm/year. Air temperature between 22’ – 32’ C.


Travel Destination in Kuantan singingi

Batang koban seven levels waterfall
This waterfall is located in dense forest area of Bukit Betabuh, Lubuk Jambi. The height of this waterfall reaches 25 metres from land which is full with steep stones. The water finally falls down to the Kuantan river stream. Its cool water and its cold and fresh air make all of the nature lovers feel comfort in staying in this waterfall location. Its distance is about 37 kilometres from the capital city, so that very compatible to develop as natural tourism object.


Lake kubu nopi
Besides Tepian Narosa (annual racing boat arena) in Teluk Kuantan, Lake Kubu Nopi will be made for racing boat arena also by the local government of Kuantan Singingi. Besides it will be used racing boat arena, it seems this lake also can be used for water sport, like jet skiing, surfing, fishing and others.

Logas
Logas is situated between Pekanbaru and Teluk Kuantan, of about 40 km from Teluk Kuantan toward Pekanbaru. there is a place which called Logas. Most of the people here work as gold miners. The name of logas is not only famous as a gold mining, but also famous with forced labour during the period of Japanes colonial. Logas is full of rock stone lowland which keeps its gold potency. Among the stone hills, Batang Singingi river stream flows with its clear water that gives additional value for its beautiful natural panorama.

Tourism village of koto sentajo
The life of the society which live in Sentajo village still pure and it is not touched by modernism yet, added by the old houses which still genuine. Its society which still hold firmly to their custom and its beautiful natural panorama become supporting factor to be developed to become tourism village. The distance of Koto Senjato and the capital city of Kuantan Singingi, Taluk Kuantan is about 5 kilometres.

Traditional boat racing
Traditional boat racing is a kind of traditional rowing boat racing which the length of the boat is about 25 - 40 metres and boat?s crew of about 40 - 60 people. This custom ceremony of Kuantan society is carried out once in a year, to welcome and celebrate the anniversary of Independence Indonesia Republic, precisely on 23 to 26 August every year. Before the race is started usually it is previously conducted a sakre and magical ceremony by a superstitious expert of the boat, then the boat is degraded to the river. All of the villages and districts in Regency of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) send their participants to follow the race as prestige and participation of each village. The location to perform of the race is located in the town, alongside of Kauantan river which is also called ?Tepian Narosa?. The Race has also scheduled in National Tourism Calendar (as a Major Event). Beside the race, in the racing location area, it is also performed other events such as Fair, Gallery Dance performance, Traditional Songs, Randai of Kuantan Singingi, and others.
