Geographical Position
Regency of Bengkalis lays in part of East coastal area between 2’30’ – 0’17’ Paralel North or 105’52’ – 102’ Longitude East, located on coastal area of East Sumatra island. Its area are some parts of Sumatra and the others are islands.

Climate
Regency of Bengkalis has tropical climate with rainfall between 809 - 4.078 mm/year. Air temperature is about 26’ C – 32’ C.

Regional Boundaries
Regency of Bengkalis has regional boundaries as follows :
a. northside with Malacca strait
b. eastside with Province of Kepulauan Riau and Regency of Siak
c. southside with Regency of Siak, Regency of Kampar; and
d. westside with Regency of Rokan Hilir.

Regency of Bengkalis has entirety region of about 11.481,77 km2, with Capital of Regency domicile in Bengkalis, consist of 13 Districts those are Districts of Bantan, Bengkalis, Bukit Batu, Mandau, Merbau, Ransang, Rupat, Tebing Tinggi, North Rupat, West Tebing Tinggi, West Ransang, Siak Kecil and Pinggir.

Bukit batu
Bukitbatu is one of the districts that is located in Regency of Bengkalis. As one of the oldest districts in Riau province. It keeps a plenty of historical heritage, so that Bukitbatu is determined as a model of cultures or traditions of Bengkalis. Some of historical heritage which can be seen as examples are the remains of a house owned by the offsprings of Datuk Laksamana Raja Di Laut. Based on the history, in the periode of Datuk Laksamana Raja Di Laut, it was happened that there was a close .

Elephant training center of Sebanga
Elephant training centre of Sebanga is located in District of Mandau or in Duri area. Its distance is about 135 km form Pekanbaru, while from Duri is about 24 km. From Dumai, its distance is about 82 km. These routes use land transportation to reach the place. The potency of this area is that the visitors can watch various elephant performances which have a lot of their own types characteristic. On all the ways toward the elephant training center, tourists can see the views of nodding oil pu.

Lake of putri pepuyu
Lake of Putri Pepuyu is located in the middle of protected forest of Putri Pepuyu and it is not much touched by human being yet, thus there has no damages or changes since the first time it was found. In society of Bengkalis, The lake is famous with a legend about the love story of King Terubuk and Putri Pepuyu which do not ever come to realize. The Lake of Putri Pepuyu is potential to use for camping, boating with length 3500 metres, and other picnic activities for visitors

Pasir panjang beach
The area of Pasir Panjang Beach are Tanjung Medang, Teluk Rhu and Tanjung Punak. Pasir Panjang Beach is located on District of North Rupat. Sand in this coast are clean and white chromatic. Its clear sea water enable tourists to take a bath, sunbath, or do water sport in this coast. Sceneries of the islands around this coast is very pleasant, because each island ( Ketam island, Mentete island, and Baru island) seems like planted by natty pine forests, though that the forest has grown by themself.

Location of Selat Baru Beach is about 30 km from town of Bengkalis, and can be reached with two or four-wheel vehicles. Its coast is wide enough, with beautiful views facing to the sea. Swimming and sunbathing all day long are interesting and pleasant activities in this coast. Many tourists watch sampan racing as an enjoyable performance for visitors in this beach every year
